Βιογραφικό

Η Ξένια Χαραλαμπίδου σπούδασε στο Τμήμα Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ). Έκανε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Οξφόρδης. Εκπόνησε τη διατριβή της στο Τμήμα Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας του ΕΠΚΑ. Ήταν μεταδιδακτορική ερευνήτρια στο ΕΚΠΑ, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας, στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Βαρσοβίας και στο Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Συνδυάζοντας τη μακροσκοπική με την αρχαιομετρική έρευνα, εργάστηκε επίσης ως Επιστημονική Συνεργάτης σε διεπιστημονικά προγράμματα στο Εργαστήριο Fitch της Βρετανικής Σχολής Αθηνών. Από το 2022 είναι Επιστημονική Συνεργάτης του Ινστιτούτου Νανοεπιστήμης και Νανοτεχνολογίας (INN), ΕΚΕΦΕ «Δημόκριτος». Πρόσφατα ολοκλήρωσε με επιτυχία την υφηγεσία της (Habilitation) στο Université Paris 1, Panthéon Sorbonne.

Τα τελευταία χρόνια διερευνά τις σχέσεις ελληνικών μητροπόλεων και αποικιών και αυτόχθονων πληθυσμών στην Κάτω Ιταλία και Σικελία (8ος-6ος αι. π.Χ.) με έμφαση στην κεραμική τεχνολογία, παραγωγή και κατανάλωση, εξετάζοντας τεχνολογικές αλληλεπιδράσεις στην κεραμική, τοπικά εργαστήρια και μετακινήσεις κεραμέων και τη χρήση των αγγείων στο χωροχρονικό και πολιτισμικό συγκείμενό τους (οικισμοί, ιερά, νεκροταφεία).

Είναι διευθύντρια του ερευνητικού προγράμματος για την αρχαιολογική θέση Τσικαλαριό και συνδιευθύντρια του ερευνητικού προγράμματος για τη Μητρόπολη-Γρόττα (με τους Καθηγητές Β. Λαμπρινουδάκη και Α. Βλαχόπουλο) στη Νάξο, καθώς και ερευνήτρια σε ανασκαφικά και ερευνητικά προγράμματα στη Χαλκίδα, την Ερέτρια και την Κάρυστο (Εύβοια), στον Ωρωπό και το Κοτρώνι-Αφίδνα (Αττική), στους Λουσούς Αρκαδίας και στην Κόρινθο στην Πελοπόννησο. Έχει διδάξει στα Πανεπιστήμια Θεσσαλίας, Βαρσοβίας, στο Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και στο Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Είναι επίσης δημιουργός και υπεύθυνη (με τους Gl. London και B. McLoughlin) του ερευνητικού και εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος «Cyprus Experimental Field School (CEF): From Cultural Heritage to Materials Science – The Female Potters of Cyprus».
